Even with the new Z/28 and the 2014 Camaro refresh just around the corner, the current ZL1 is still a favorite in the late-model GM world, and continues to be the King of the Hill in terms of Chevrolet pony cars. That’s probably why we continue to see them pop up all over the place with the latest mods and personal touches from tuners all over the country.
We found this one built by Ultimate Auto over on the Top Speed website, and it’s an example that has “love it our hate it” touches. On the outside, it’s pretty much standard issue Camaro ZL1, but on the inside is where all of the personalization takes place. Under the hood is a K&N carbon fiber cold air intake system, and an aftermarket set of headers to enhance the performance of the supercharged LSA engine.
Further increasing the performance of the boosted GM mill is a stainless Borla catback exhaust system and an NOS nitrous oxide kit, that not only adds an additional shot of horsepower, but helps cool the intake charge going into the alloy engine.
There are other touches too, like a killer JL Audio stereo system for when you get bored of listening to the 600+ horsepower motor (if that’s even possible). Either way, this black on black ZL1 is quite a stunner wherever it goes – bumping stereo system aside.
Featuring red touches throughout the interior, along with a few bolt-ons under the hood and out back, this ZL1 is what some people might see as a 'love it or hate' sense of personalization.
