Going fast isn’t only for us land lubbers. Planes, trains, and boats are all capable of traveling well into the triple digits. But while many jets have ejection seats and parachutes, and cars don’t have to worry about sinking in the event of a rollover, speedboats drivers often don’t even buckle in for fear of getting trapped. It’s scary enough to keep most of us speed freaks on four wheels instead of in a tiny boat with a big engine.

But there are always those who want to go fast, no matter the surface. Over the weekend at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, a combination Z06 Corvette and Corvette-themed Catamaran sold for the better part of three quarters of a million dollars, along with a trailer to carry your prizes home.

Now this isn’t the first Corvette speedboat ever built. In fact, much of what the Corvette is owes to the fiberglass body that was popular with marine builders and design studios of the time. So this isn’t the only Corvette themed boat of its kind, but it could just be the most powerful. That’s because it features two custom-built supercharged Corvette LS7 engines under a cowl hood, allowing it to shred water with ease.

The Corvette influence is apparent throughout the rest of the boat, as MTI Marine Technologies sourced all of the parts straight from GM. That includes the seats, dashboard, and yes even the headlights and iconic quad-circular tail lights. At Barrett-Jackson this one-of-a-kind boat sold alongside a 2008 Z06 Corvette and a carrying trailer for just $675,000 ($742,500 after the buyer’s commission gets thrown in there). Quite the bargain for a package like this, especially considering it comes with a pre-paid training course due to the “nature” of this Corvette catamaran.
