Swap Insanity: Nick Fousekis’ LS7-Swapped, Widebody Porsche 911

Nowadays, it’s getting more and more popular to swap LS engines into late model Porsches. While this kind of build is no longer out of the ordinary, it still has purists cringing.

For the 2014 SEMA show, Nick Fousekis and Race Tech Services teamed up to build this vision of the perfect 911. If you were at the SEMA show, Fousekis’ car could’ve been seen at the Hawk Performance booth. When we saw it, it caught us off guard. We followed the build on Instagram since the beginning stages, but it’s so in-your-face in person.

“So why do this in the first place?” Per the 911DV8 website, “With the evolution of the tuner culture and a boom in Porsche 911 popularity, we set a goal to demonstrate that the otherwise forgotten 996 chassis (C2) Carrera can be built into a viable, reliable, affordable and great performing alternative to more current sports coupes. A 420+hp 911 with no frills CAN be had for nearly the same price as a Scion FRS wielding less than half the horsepower.”

The forgotten 996 chassis was stripped down and the work began there. From rendering to reality, Fousekis’ DV8 aero kit looks great. He spent months cutting up old parts and shaping them to make the molds for this kit. In the rear sits an LS7 engine that is more than capable of producing 400+ horsepower.

It’s mounted in the back of the 911 via Renegade Hybrid‘s mounting kit and the car has a bunch of other goodies besides the new V8, which include a full Alpine sound system, Sparco seats with the rear seats wrapped to match, Hawk Performance brake pads, KW Suspension‘s Hydraulic Lift System, HRE 935 Vintage Series wheels, and Falken rubber to top it off.
