Yeah, we know you’re probably thinking “another Mustang? Come on!,” but this Fox-body ‘Stang is one bad machine.
High Tech Corvette captured some footage of this super clean beast at the last Quick 30 event, hosted by Texas Speed Syndicate. Built by Lethal Performance, this Fox gets its power from a built, 76-mm turbo-equipped LS1 that produces in excess of 980 horsepower at 12 psi and even more power when the boost is turned up.
If you’ve watched the video before reading this, then you already know that this Fox is a manual transmission car, which is pretty awesome. The owner drives it around town just like a normal 6-speed car, but still has fun at the strip, although it is quite a bit more to handle than a conventional 2-speed drag-focused automatic transmission.
The owner even takes the time to call out any other LS-powered coupes in the area for some friendly competition, but obviously his setup wasn’t optimized enough to beat the red F-body Camaro that he went up against earlier in the video. However, the owner said he could up the boost easily another 10 pounds, but we’re pretty sure he didn’t mess with the boost setting during the day. If he did, he could’ve probably beat that red Camaro. Maybe next time.
LS engines have always been a popular choice to drop in a Fox-body Mustang, but it seems like the swap is a lot more popular nowadays, not to mention a great bang for your buck. Hopefully we see more clean builds like this in the future.
