We had a blast at the 6th-annual LS Fest. This 3-day event which invites everything and anything LS powered. We were proud to cover everything within hours of it happening over those three days, which we think is a huge plus for our readers as our goal is to provide the latest news as quickly as possible.

It’s also why we wanted to share this particular Nova we came across during LS Fest. It’s a Magnuson TSV2300 supercharged LS3 swapped ’72 Nova, owned by Norman Brown from La Morada, Flordia. Brown has owned the Nova for about 5 years now. The car was used to be powered by a GM 396 cubic-inch V8 (yes we know that’s not the original engine, there were no factory big block ’72 Novas) with a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission before he decided on the LS3 swap.

Brown has been into street rods for awhile now. So naturally, when he decided he wanted another project car, owning his second Nova was the only feasible choice. The car has been completed for about 2 years now, and began with Brown sourcing a LS3 engine from a donor 2010 Camaro, which was paired with a GM 6L80E transmission. While Brown comments he was “always into big block cars”, he wanted something more reliable and practical this time around.

The car is daily driven with over 10,000 miles on the package, and with over 500 horsepower to the wheels this supercharged Nova gets 20 mpg. Brown’s Nova also has some other modifications worth mentioning. Detroit Speed supplied lower control arms, sway bars, and springs to “handle” all the handling needs (no pun intended). The car also uses a Ford 9-inch rear-end which currently has 3.50-ratio gears. After Brown sourced all of the necessary parts and had them in hand, the car only took a little over 3 months to complete.

We had a great time interviewing Norman and checking out his supercharged LS3 swapped ’72 Nova. As we’re sure you can tell from the images, the car was built perfectly, and with over 500 horsepower to the wheels, we’d have to agree this car has to be fun.
