It seems as though LSXMag might be going a little crazy on covering the current LS-powered supercar phenomenon, but it is hard not to love the variety of uses this engine platform lends itself to. Autoblog reported that Hulme has officially started accepting orders for their long-awaited supercar offering. Hulme is the only supercar manufacturer in New Zealand and despite not having any local competition it seems as though newest release should be able to hold its own against the world’s best on the streets or road course. Hulme’s supercar is designed to provide an F1 experience on the streets and with the estimated 700 horsepower LS7 this thing should haul ass.
To diehard horsepower junkies 700 may seem conservative when compared to some other cars, but when you cram that much power into 2,300 pound chassis, the power-to-weight ratio is impressive. Hulme achieved the lightweight design through the use of Kevlar and carbon fiber; both of these materials are incredibly light, but are remarkably strong. The manufacturer expects the LS7 powered car to do 0-60 in less than 3.5 seconds. Unfortunately for those chomping at the bit to get a hold of the car, Hulme is now accepting orders but the delivery date is likely to be in the second half of 2012. With the end of the world and subsequent zombie apocalypse scheduled for 2012, perhaps a 700 horsepower provide a rapid escape from the ravenous hordes of brain devourers might be just the ticket…
