As a general rule, we don’t like to mix politics and Corvettes. But after seeing this poor Z06, we couldn’t resist. Here goes!

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has shouted far and wide that America has a massive wealth inequality problem, and his pledge to make the wealthy pay their “fair share” has resonated with a large chunk of American voters. It was with no small amount of irony then that we present you a rather unique mobile billboard for Sander’s message of spreading the wealth.

That billboard is a $100,000 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 package, owned by the daughter of racer James Glickenhaus, reports Playboy. Glickenhaus’ daughter Veronica is married to Gene Leeds, who covered the Corvette in vinyl and Bernie Sanders stickers as part of an art project. It seems the irony of a wealthy persons toy in support of a socialist presidential candidate was completely lost on him. Or maybe that was the point?

Though a seemingly tone deaf work of art, the thing about America’s political system is that you can support any candidate for any reason, no matter how ridiculous. For Leeds, Bernie’s willingness to take on Wall Street wealth inequality has resonated with him, and apparently many Corvette fans as well. The response has been “99% positive” according to Leeds, save for somebody apparently spitting on it once, a particularly nasty form of political discourse. Regardless of who you support, don’t take it out on a innocent Corvette.

For those worrying a future classic has been ruined by political ideologues, you may have right to be concerned. While Leeds painted over a red, white, blue and clear 3M vinyl wrap, he first covered the Corvette in Bernie bumper stickers that will be harder to remove than Hillary Clinton’s delegate lead over Sanders.

But that’s a problem for Leeds and his wife, and in a presidential election that’s unlike any we’ve ever seen, a socialist-supporting Chevy supercar isn’t half as weird as the idea that Donald Trump might actually be our next president.

Or having a personalized license plate that says “Ferrets.”
