If you’re looking for a great Christmas present for your favorite car enthusiast, Carlisle Events is your one-stop shop. This year, the car show gurus are having a Black Friday sale that actually started on November 23, and will run through Wednesday, January 2 at 5:00 p.m. This month-long event offers fans of Carlisle Events – and the 10 events produced by the company (plus four auctions backed by Carlisle Auctions) – the ability to secure all types of access at a 20-percent event discount. This discount includes season passes and show field registration. That means you Chevy guys can get discounted entry for the multiple swap meet events, as well as the Chevrolet Nationals.
The Chevrolet Nationals first launched in 2001, and the event has long embraced all things General Motors. This includes marques like Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn, and more. Annually drawing more than 100 years of history on display, in 2017, the event welcomed Team Chevrolet to the mix. For 2019, they’ll be back.
New to 2019, the Chevrolet Nationals weekend will feature a Hurst-specific display. The Hurst showcase will spotlight some of the best Hurst-prepped vehicles in the region. The display will be located near the crossroads of the grounds, and is being planned as a 15 to 20-car display area. In addition, there will be some Hurst-themed memorabilia, and efforts are being made to entice Hurst engineers who have attended in years past, to attend the 2019 event. There will also be Hurst-centric seminars planned throughout the event as well.
Another terrific addition to Chevrolet Nationals weekend is the Carlisle Auctions Summer Sale. Originally held as a stand-alone event in 2018, the Carlisle Auctions team brings its fast-paced brand of excitement to the Chevrolet weekend. The Summer Sale will feature 200-plus classic and collector cars of all makes for sale, including two brand-specific power hours. These hours will include one dedicated to trucks, and another focused on the General Motors family of vehicles. The auction will be held on Saturday, June 22, at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center. The auction will offer a free shuttle to move guests between the two facilities. Plus, there is free spectator admission to the auction.
A big change this year will be the Chevrolet weekend will only be two days: Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22. That change requires all portions of the event that were historically held on Sunday morning (except for the worship service), will now take place Saturday evening following the burnout and beauty contests. This change should also increase participation in the awards parade and offer an enhanced turnout for coolest and largest club recognition.
The Chevrolet Nationals is an event themed to make sure everyone has a good time, and in case you were wondering what will be happening on this fun-filled weekend, here are some highlights you can expect to enjoy.
Summer Of Cool
The 1969 car models were the epitome of factory hot rodding, and General Motors offered everything from the Camaro RS/SS to the Pontiac Firebird, and the GTO Judge, Chevelle, and Olds 442, to the Buick GSX. It was a stellar year for awesome cars from GM.
In 2019, the folks at Carlisle want the yearly party to reflect the excitement of 1969. That party will celebrate the 50th birthday of those cars! Once again, the Building T showcase will feature the cars built during this banner year, and you can continuously get updates by checking the Chevy Nationals website. Apply today for your spot inside the building, or simply register your car for the show field using the links below! You can even apply today for consideration to have your car feature in the invitational display.
The Elco Gets Some Respect
Join the festivities at Carlisle as they celebrate Chevrolet’s famous coupe utility vehicle. It all started in 1959, when the Chevrolet division started producing an all new two-door station wagon-based pickup truck. The integrated cab and cargo-bed-design was brought about as a response to Ford’s Ranchero. The El Camino had a long run, and the first-generation spanned from 1959 to 1960, using the B-body platform. Then, after a three-year hiatus, returned in 1964, and was based on the A-body platform until 1981. El Camino production ended in 1987, and at that point, was using the popular G-body platform.
At the 2019 Chevrolet Nationals, the Carlisle crew wants to deliver a great display of El Caminos of all generations. The utility hauler will be part of the featured display inside Building T, and will also be featured near the stage. More details will come as we get closer to the event, and we can’t wait to see your El Camino there! Apply today for invitational consideration or register for the event by clicking here.
Blazer Bash
From the family-sized K5 Blazer to the smaller S-10 Blazer, this year’s Chevrolet Nationals will celebrate the 50th birthday of the Chevy Blazer! Enthusiasts can see everything Blazer related, old to new, custom to stock and everything in between. Join the excitement as they showcase the heritage! At the Chevrolet Nationals in 2019 the Carlisle crew want to deliver a great display of Blazers of all generations. More details will come as we get closer to the event, and we can’t wait.
An event of this magnitude is one that you really need to make plans to attend. There is so much more than just a car show, and you’ll be glad you made the trek to the Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals.
