Enthusiasts have been flocking south to attend the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) Winter Regional meet for decades. The event has enjoyed some of the greatest venues around the Central Florida corridor and currently, call the Sun N’ Fun facilities in Lakeland Florida home.
Another venue that brings the sound of performance to the Sun N’ Fun grounds is the Carlisle Winter AutoFest. Corvette enthusiasts are likely familiar with the annual Corvettes at Carlisle event that is held in Pennsylvania every August, and Carlisle Events is the entity that responsible for both events. Now, these two powerhouses of Corvette fun have joined together to cover Sun N’ Fun’s campus with Corvettes throughout the entire weekend of February 22-24th.
As part of the event, the NCRS will be hosting its winter regional meet, allowing guests a look at some of the best Corvettes in and around the Sunshine State and beyond. In addition, Carlisle Events will present a Corvette-specific Showfield, with VIP and general parking options.
The joined forces of both entities mean that Corvettes of all generations, whether stock or modified, will be represented at the event. The NCRS has always done an excellent job at promoting the history and preservation of Corvettes through the years and with Carlisle’s infusion of additional vendors and seminars suited to a late-model customer, the entire production run of Corvette will be represented.
If you live in the cold parts of the country, what better time to escape than February and what better place than Lakeland, Florida? Come on down and enjoy the sun, the cars, the auction and the many vendors with us! – Lance Miller, Carlisle Events
An additional bonus, Corvette technician Paul Koerner will be on hand, diagnosing any issues that Corvette owners may find with their Corvettes and also holding several seminars to help owners get the most enjoyment from their rides. Koerner, based out of Jackson Chevrolet in Connecticut, is a GM certified master technician and can be found on Facebook as The Corvette Mechanic.
Other Corvette-specific opportunities are the dedicated vendors of both vintage or late-model Corvettes and their parts, and at least one all-Corvette themed hour as part of their two-day auction. This allows those who want to buy their first or next Corvette, a dedicated time slot to do so. In all, this will be the biggest and best Corvette gathering in the eastern time zone since Corvettes at Carlisle in August. Complete details on the Corvette showcase, plus the show itself can be found on Carlisle Events’ website or by calling 717-243-7855.
The Corvette faithful have long enjoyed the NCRS Winter Regional event as a respite from the cold, northern winter weather, and now, thanks to Carlisle Events, there are even more reasons to head south in February!
