Generally when we see somebody take an OEM vehicle and transform the body into something else, the results are a shot in the dark. Every once in a while we see a mean looking aftermarket body enhancement setup that looks even better than OEM equipment when it comes to fruition, but we’ve also seen far too many botch jobs that are entirely too awful to even reside on this planet.
This C7 based shooting brake, or station wagon, designed by Callaway looks to be far from a botch job. As a matter of fact, it’s probably the anti-botch job… if that’s even a thing. What Callaway is calling the “Aerowagon” looks to be the wagon of our dreams. The CTS-V pulled it off pretty dang good, so why not try it with one of the best looking production cars today? If you already have a C7 you’re in luck! The carbon package can be installed for a small fee of $15,000 and paint matched for an additional $1500. If that’s not enough for you, you can order it as an option when you purchase your genuine Callaway Corvette.
Due to the structural design of the Corvette, we will probably never see a four door version unless somebody gets super creative (that might be a good thing). Those who purchase the package will, however be able to retain the original targa top. This makes the Aerowagon the only targa topped wagon in existence. Perhaps this may open the door to future sports wagons. If not, that’s ok! We can still mull on this awesome creation for years to come.
