QA1’s brand new MOD Series Coil-Overs for C5 and C6 Corvettes are pushing Corvettes through corners and hairpins faster than ever, shaving off precious time on the race track. Two of the QA1 suspension test partners have already earned podium finishes right after installing the MOD Series Coil-Overs.
James Elliot competes in multiple series, including the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge and SCCA events. Last month, Elliot bolted on QA1’s new MOD Series coil-overs to his C6 Z06, his first outing since August 2019. During this event, he demolished his class by 2.7 seconds in the autocross portion of the USCA event at the National Corvette Museum (NCM). Additionally, Elliot displayed his driving skills and MOD coil-overs again on the road course and walked away as the overall event winner in the Outlaw class.

James Elliot destroyed the competition by 2.7 seconds after bolting on QA1’s new MOD Series coil-overs to his C6 Z06 during the autocross portion of the USCA event at the National Corvette Museum.
The following weekend, Elliot decided to enter an SCCA event in Cincinnati. Again, Elliot blasted off in the C6 ZO6 and cracked off the fastest time of the day on the autocross, outrunning every class at the regional event.
“QA1’s MOD Series coil-overs play a huge role in my overall setup,” said Elliot. “This package offers everything most drivers will ever need, whether on the autocross or road course. Plenty of adjustability. No over-heating issues. It’s a great all-around option.”
QA1’s other test partner Gunny Jones installed the QA1 MOD Series coil-overs and set off for the Good Guys at Scottsdale. Good Guys was Gunny’s first event after installing the new QA1 setup, which performed flawlessly. Gunny ended up getting second place, further proving how adaptable and driver-friendly the MOD Series shocks are in competition.

Gunny Jones also installed QA1’s MOD Series coil-overs and set off for the Good Guys at Scottsdale. After installing the new coil-over setup, Gunny ended up getting second place his first time out with the new product.
The QA1 MOD Series coil-overs are still in the early stages and are already showing crazy performance gains. It will be interesting to see how much more dialed in the MOD Series can become with being so good out of the box. And for those of you C5 and C6 guys eager to get a set of QA1’s C5 & C6 MOD Series, there is good news; the MOD coil-overs will be widely available to the public in early 2022. However, if you are looking for a steerable coil-over, QA1 tells us that it will also offer Proma Star Double Adjustable coil-overs for C5 & C6 Corvettes. These units will provide expected performance gains and enhanced ride height adjustability.
