When Moroso Performance Products started as a business, the Gen-1 small-block Chevrolet engine was younger than the LS engine is today. In that time, they have grown into one of the most recognized names in automotive performance. So, it’s no surprise that even though the LS family of engines is no longer in production, Moroso is still bringing new products to market for the Gen-III/IV engines. The mix below of serious performance components, along with the simpler factory-upgrade parts prove just how popular the platform really is.
Oil Pump For Dart LS Next and SHP blocks
Moroso has long been a manufacturer of performance oil pumps, and when the LS came out with its crank-driven gerotor pump design, Moroso continued the tradition by developing better-than-stock pumps. Moroso’s engineers recently released a pump designed specifically for the oil flow needs of Dart’s priority-main oiling systems. Both the housing and cover are CNC machined and then hard-coat anodized right here in the USA.
Ultra 40 Sleeved Ignition Wire Sets
When it comes to the LS and its coil-per-plug ignition system, spark plug wires don’t always get the attention they deserve. These high-performance wire sets from Moroso are made from Ultra 40 7mm ignition wire and are sleeved to offer additional thermal and dielectric insulation as well as abrasion resistance. The 135-degree plug boot design comes in two lengths — 8 inches and 9.75 inches.
LS Rear Oil Passage Plug
The LS barbell (or dog bone) is one of those little things that sometimes you don’t even think about until the last minute. Designed to seal the rear oil passage while not restricting oil flow, Moroso’s version is made from billet aluminum instead of the OEM plastic, allowing for a narrower, less restrictive stem. It also has a secondary O-ring design, both of which are made from Viton material. Another neat feature is that it is threaded for easy removal once installed, which can be a challenge with the OEM unit.
Timing Cover, Header, and Bellhousing Bolts
While metric bolts are more common than they used to be, finding just the right replacement bolts locally can still be a hassle. To make life easy whether you are replacing grimy old OEM bolts or starting from scratch, Moroso has put together various bolt sets for the LS family. The bolts are Grade 10.9 (the metric equivalent of SAE Grade 8), come with a convenient flange head, and are coated with a clear zinc finish, for long-lasting corrosion resistance.
