So, you just got yourself a brand, spanky-new C8 Corvette. Makes sense you would want to pop the top and head out to the beach, right? Well, hopefully, if you didn’t know already, this video should explain why it might be a good idea to stick with terra firma and not try to go cruisin’ the coastline in the truest sense of the term. According to D’Z RIDEZ, who obtained the video from a gentleman named James and posted it to his YouTube account, the driver’s monetary lapse of reason happened at West Beach in Galveston, Texas.

You can take a few minutes and debate in the comments section whether this guy really understands the responsibility of Corvette ownership. You could also debate whether doing such an act is best done where there are a lot of people to help push or far away from everyone so there’s no evidence! Thankfully, this guy picked a beach full of happy-go-lucky car pushers (and a guy with a dually truck and a tow strap!)

This brings us to our next scratch your head moment. If you were going to tug out a brand new C8 Corvette that shouldn’t be sunk up to its driver’s belly button in the sand in the first place, where would you choose to wrap that big ol’ strap? Find a tow hook? Nah. Frame? Nope! How about one of those nice front wheels? YEAH! That’ll do it!

Why would they make those openings so big if they didn’t want a big tow strap to get wrapped around a spoke?!!!

Eventually, they do get the poor C8 extracted from the shifting sands but we don’t see the Corvette drive away. Even if tugging on the front wheel didn’t do any irreversible damage, it didn’t do the car’s alignment any favors either. Does anyone know if there was a recent warranty claim on a blue C8 for steering misalignment or a broken steering rack? At the very least, the next three owners of this Corvette are going to be finding sand in its undercarriage for years to come.

We always knew the folks in the great state of Texas were a friendly bunch. Seems like they’re also willing to lend a helping hand to anyone up to their universal joints in loose sand.
