Every car enthusiast loves function and form, especially when the two work in perfect harmony.
“With wet-layup carbon fiber, you get the shiny finish with the gel clear coat, and about a 20 percent weight savings over the factory part, but with pre-preg carbon fiber, it has more of a flat look and doesn’t look as brilliant, but it weighs a lot less,” explained Andy Fritts of Anderson Composites.
Another awesome looking hood Anderson Composites brought out was the three-inch cowl hood for the 2010-2013 Camaro SS. The wet-layup carbon fiber cowl hood provides extra space in the engine bay to run power adders, but with the hood being carbon fiber, it still weighs less than a factory hood with no cowl.
Anderson Composites also brought out some slick pieces for the sixth-generation Mustang, which include a full carbon fiber decklid, carbon fiber hood, and carbon fiber fenders and flares. Depending on customer preference, carbon fiber pieces can be purchased from Anderson Composites in either wet-layup carbon fiber, or pre-preg carbon fiber.
Anderson Composites caters to the domestic market, as Seibon caters to the import market, so they have a lot of weight-saving pieces for the Challenger, Viper, Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, and much more. Check out their website for more information!
