DeatschWerks (DW) released the DW400 fuel pump, a complete fuel pump module for the 5th generation Camaro, and we got to take a look at it during the 2018 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, held December 6-8 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
The DW400 Camaro module is a “plug-and-play” direct replacement for the OE pump, capable of nearly double the flow output of the OE pump with increased pressure to 120psi.
As part of its direct fitment, the DW400 works with the OE wiring harness, level sender, and feed lines. The system comes with an integrated check valve for easy cold starts, flow-optimized internal plumbing, and a 415LPH DW400 Bosch pump that utilizes a venturi-fed surge bucket for consistent fueling at low tank levels and high-G conditions.
According to company owner, David Deatsch, the OE pump comes with a restrictive cardboard fuel filter that isn’t ethanol compliant. The DW400 module deletes the OE filter and utilizes a 10m dual-stage stainless steel filter cartridge. The filter has been specifically designed for the 2010-15 Camaro and features pre-cut -8AN CPE hose terminated in 3/8-inch EFI quick connects.
The DW400 can be converted into a return-style fuel system with an -8AN feed and -6AN return.
DW says the DW400 is compatible with pump gas, race fuel, and e85.
