It’s the end of the year which means it is time for the PRI show. We’re running the show floor and stopped in at Powermaster Performance to see what the featured product of the year was. Talking with both Santiago Mendez and Denise Lawrence, we learned quite a bit about the new product and it has us excited to share.

Introducing the company’s all-new LS-based alternator that features an adjustable regulator for 12V, 14V, and 16V batteries. Powermaster now offers its XS line of alternators for the highly-popular LS applications. The XS alternator can be adjusted for your battery voltage from 13.5- to 18.5-volt electrical system. “We are the only one out there that offers an alternator like this,” Mendez explained. “If you have a lithium battery then can only take X amount of volts, dial it to that. If you have a battery that can take more, turn it up to that. It’s that easy.”

Features of the XS line of LS alternators include advanced, digitally controlled regulators for precise control, a new ground tab for easy grounding. It also supports most common GM and aftermarket bracket systems, comes in 180- and 220-amp models, and are all available in either natural, chrome, polished, or black finish. Regardless of your application, Powermaster has a fit for your LS.

“These alternators are offered with 100- and 185-amp delivery at idle. Idle amperage is so important because that is where you spend a lot of your time,” Denise explained. “Customers will say they need 100 amp overall, so they’ll buy that. That may be enough for idle but not for operation.” Another feature they’ve added is the ground tab.

Powermaster also offers an LS bracket kit, too. Depending on how you want it to mount, they offer a low mount and a high mount. This is perfect for the person wanting to customize their LS-powered machine’s engine bay. These are now available and ready for shipment.
