PRI 2023: ProCharger Adds BIG Power To Gen V LT With New CrankDrive

Every year at the PRI Show there is a crowd in and around the ProCharger Superchargers booth as people drool over some of the most powerful engine combinations available. Of course, the Big Block Chevy and billet Hemi engines get the bulk of the attention, but this year there was something new that we are very excited about. On display was ProCharger’s new Gen V LT CrankDrive system.

The ProCharger CrankDrive is a gear-driven unit that connects directly to the engine’s crankshaft. This unit provides maximum efficiency by eliminating any slip that can happen if using a typical belt drive system. The LT CrankDrive supports the F-1, F-2, and F-3 series ProCharger units, which means a 2,400-plus crank horsepower Gen V LT is possible with the proper engine build. The particular engine on display during the PRI Show was an L8T provided by Scoggin Dickey Parts Center with an F3-R102 unit bolted to the LT CrankDrive. This combination is capable of 1,800-plus horsepower according to ProCharger.

Other features of the LT CrankDrive are a lightweight design that is easy to assemble, disassemble, and make gear ratio changes. The unit allows the engine to rotate in both directions for servicing and maintenance. Additionally, there are multiple gear sets available to change the rpm the ProCharger spins giving you the ability to make adjustments based on your combination and/or track conditions.

For those wanting to run accessories like an alternator, dry sump oil pumps, and a fuel pump the LT CrankDrive offers optional components that can drive all of those accessories easily. Lastly, while giving the LT CrankDrive a closer look we were informed by ProCharger’s Erik Radzins of a design feature built into the LT CrankDrive that we did not immediately notice. There are mounting points on both sides of the CrankDrive unit that allow it to be bolted to the frame/chassis in place of a front motor plate. This feature eliminates the need for a typical motor plate and it’s considerably thicker in that area than what we commonly see used for motor plates.

With the launch of the LT CrankDrive, we are excited to see what ProCharger combinations people will come up with. For more information on this product visit ProCharger.com.
