S&W Race Cars have been cranking out great drag racing parts since 1959 with a keen eye for developing parts racers need. LS engine swaps continue to be popular at all levels of drag racing, and to help racers put an LS-engine in their ride – S&W now offers its own line of LS motor plates. These aluminum motor plates are designed to work in just about any vehicle that you would want to put an LS engine in.
Motor plates are great because they help to eliminate frame flex and rotational movement of the engine, both things that will rob a race car of performance at the track. S&W’s motor plates also offer extra header clearance, something that makes maintenance on a race car much easier. The motor plates are cut on a waterjet at S&W and are made from 1/4-inch thick 6061-T6 aluminum.
Jill Fazekas from S&W explains why the company decided to bring these motor plates to market.
“Customer requests are frequently called into our office and also made in-person to our sales representatives, while at the track. The development of the one-piece LS Series motor plates, as with many of our competition components and performance street parts, was driven by customer demand. Our goal is to satisfy our customer’s needs and produce products that perform repeatedly.”
The S&W LS motor plates will work with GM LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LSA, LS9, and LSX engines. S&W offers the motor plates in a one-piece configuration, one-piece with a notch for turbo headers, or as a two-piece unit.
