For dirt or pavement late-model, sprint, or midget racing, AFCO Racing has introduced their new line of brake calipers with staggered piston sizes to increase braking power and pad release with their forged design. The smaller caliper is at the leading edge of the brake pad, with the larger at the trailing end, which provides more pressure on the back side to balance out pad loading. The new piston design also helps create better grip on the brake pads.
They also showed us they new racing brake pedal/master cylinder combo with extra reinforcements in the cast bracket to help strengthen the assembly, and additional bracing to assure even pressure on the dual brake cylinders.
New for SEMA this year was their current model Camaro suspension kit, providing a coilover setup that will lower the car 1 inch, and allow the owner to lower the Camaro up to 1.5-inches. The complete kit retails for roughly $2,999.00 and includes front and adjustable rear sway bars, all designed to improve handling for those who enjoy open track days and spirited driving with their late model Camaro.
Also available are their Pro Shocks for the street rod industry, offering custom lengths and soft, medium, or firm for more tuneability for the end user preference. Their Mustang drag struts have what they call “Big Gun Valving”, with double adjustable struts that allow 32 rebound adjustments and 24 compression adjustments that help to control the front end during launch, and to keep the front end from bouncing – providing a smoother landing after a wheelie and helping to improve 60 foot times.
Of course, AFCO is also very proud of their custom application radiators and cooling fans, with a new modular design that includes a variable speed fan and temperature sender. Rather than the fan cycling on and off, the fan speed varies, helping to maintain a consistent engine temperature. You can check for applications for your race or street vehicle at the AFCO Racing/Dynatech website for more products for street and racing applications.
