AEM Performance Electronics has many exciting things coming for 2017 – products are now available for the data and power hungry to those just looking for better systems integration.
AEM’s new digital display, the CD-7 and CD7-L, were highly anticipated releases. “This is without a doubt the most exciting thing we are launching at this years’ show,” said Lawson Molica, AEM Director of Marketing and PR. They feature a 7-inch screen with four programmable pages, including an “on-change” screen for those with map switching to compare tunes. This product is available with or without a data logger and can be configured to work in conjunction with a multitude of ECUs and will accept input channels, collect channel data, and give vehicle warnings directly from the user’s ECU.
When combined with the Vehicle Dynamics Module (VDM), it has the ability to provide track mapping including sector times, predictive times, lap times, and more.
The VDM is extremely simple to install and makes for a very easy way to log vehicle chassis data from roll, pitch, lateral acceleration, and vertical acceleration. This gives users the ability to see exactly how their vehicle is performing on the track and adjust accordingly.
In addition to a new ECU designed for crate motors and older V8s, they have created new high-output direct fit replacement ignition coils. “They are really affordable, super reliable, give you a little more spark energy over a factory coil, and they drop right in– anybody could install these,” said Lawson.
Many of AEM’s existing products now are being released with OBD2 capabilities including: the X-series wideband, X-series gauge, and the famous AQ1 “entry level” data logger.
