In motorsports, it’s all about who has the most horsepower or who has the most traction. Some think it’s consistency that’s most important. While all three of these ideas are important in our eyes, there is one option that may be overlooked and it is braking systems. Looking for race-proven, durability, and performance?
TBM Brakes (formally known as The Brake Man, Inc.) designs and manufactures a complete line of brake systems and components for motorsport, street and fleet vehicles. After checking out all of the rotors and calipers on display we wanted to get the scoop on what to expect out of these new kits.
“These new front drag hub kits come in at just under twenty pounds and they are available in most popular applications including fox bodies, first to third-generation Camaros, and different strut cars,” Jason Smith said. “Some of TBM’s braking components can work on our diesel applications. With the correct hub size on your axle housing, TBM can make these work for you.”‘
The design of these brakes prevent the rotor from warping and distribute the heat evenly which keeps the rotor straight and true versus dishing and potentially failing. Although unlikely, if you encountered a failure, the matched front and back kits come complete with hub assembly, rotor, caliper, and pads.
