The gang at Holley Performance Products is at it again. They are always pushing the envelope and creating new parts and pieces to keep the industry on our toes. This SEMA show was no different, and they had a lot of new goodies to show us at their ever-so-large booth. From intake manifolds, electronics, and a new compact accessory system, it’s always fun to stop by and see what innovative things are in the works.
One thing that quickly grabbed our attention was the new Sniper Dual Plenum intake manifold. This unique looking manifold will undoubtedly be the talk of the local car scene when you pop the hood on your hot rod. It looks like it could be something off of an Italian supercar instead of an intake manifold for an LS powerplant.
The Sniper offers two independent plenums which attach to a set of long runners that sweep down to the heads. This 100-percent tig welded masterpiece is available in bright silver, or black anodizing depending on your taste with both 92mm or 102mm throttle body openings. Holley states that the operating range for the new intake is 1600-6800 rpm and will work with both boosted and naturally-aspirated configurations as well.
The dual plenum intake is available for the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and L92 engines and includes throttle body spacers, installation kit, and the fuel rail kit. You can run a drive by wire throttle body set up, or you can use non-electric throttle bodies. If you go the mechanical throttle body route, Lokar offers a throttle cable to tie the two together. According to Holley, you can see all of the dyno results on their website, and the drivability of this intake is supposedly excellent.
We can’t wait to see this intake in action and to see what else Holley has in store. Be sure and check out their website at www.holley.com to see all of their latest products.
