While Melling is widely known in the automotive industry for its high-performance oil pumps, but you might be surprised to know that the company offers a wide array of other parts, as well. For example, it offers state-of-the-art camshafts, lifters, timing sets, and specialized tools, to name a few. And while the company has many valvetrain offerings for the LS/LT platform, it lacked one key component: valvesprings.

At this year’s SEMA show, Melling introduced the newest addition to its lineup with valvesprings for the LS and LT engine. We spoke with Cale Risinger, Technical Services Manager at Melling, about this new product. Risinger said, “We now offer a beehive round wire spring for the LS and a few dual springs ranging from .550- to .650-inch lift. In addition, we also offer a dual spring for the LS and LT engines that is rated up to .600-inch lift.” Risinger also told us that Melling designed the Beehive springs to work with all of its new performance LS camshafts, 10 in total, ranging from mild Stage 1 to radical Stage 5.

In addition to the new springs, Melling is now offering some other essential valvetrain parts for the LS. The new lineup includes titanium retainers, valvespring shims, valvespring cups and bases, valve stem seals, and a camshaft kit which consists of a cam and valvesprings.
