There are few people as devoted to the Temple of Torque and the High Halls of Horsepower as John Hennessey. The man and his devoted followers have been churning out some of the most powerful and impressive automotive creations in the world to go along with an online media presence that is the envy of the aftermarket. Any time a new high-horsepower car comes out, you can be sure that Hennessey is putting together a package to make it even more powerful.
So it comes as no surprise that the Texas-based tuner has taken the 640 horsepower Cadillac CTS-V and tweaked it to make a solid 1,000 horsepower. It’ll also come in 750 and 800 horsepower flavors, but if you’re going to invest even more into your supercharged Cadillac, why not go all the way?
The upgrade kit adds a 2.9-liter supercharger on top of a massaged LT4 engine that sees new forged pistons and rods, ported cylinder heads, and an upgraded fuel system. A beefier intercooler system keeps the air nice and cold, while long-tube headers and high-flow cats dump the exhaust out the back end with ease. Add to that new software programming, professional installation, and plenty of Hennessey Performance Engineering badging, and you’ve got yourself a six-figure Cadillac with four figures of horsepower to play with.
Hennessey says that these upgrades turn the heavy luxury sedan into a 240+ MPH racing machine. However, there’s still room for even more power if history is any indicator, as the last generation of HPE-tuned Cadillacs offered as much as 1,250 ponies. Is there still more power in store for this Vette-powered luxury car? And if so, how much more can the modified LT4 handle?
