2011 RideTech Suspension Challenge Winner Chosen

For all of those who entered to win a free RideTech suspension, now is the time to be jealous. Although it was a difficult task, RideTech recently released the name of the individual who will compete in this year’s Suspension Challenge at the Holley LS Fest. Even if you didn’t win, attending the LS Fest and watching the Challenge will still be a rewarding experience.

Many entered to be a part of the challenge, but it was Dustin Bernacki that was chosen. Being the owner of his ‘68 Chevelle for half of his life, Bernacki has done all of work on his car except for the paint job. He has built his own engines for the car and explained in his RideTech entry that he even built the current engine in the Chevelle – a 2007 6.0L LS. With this engine, Bernacki is running a large COMP camshaft, Holley Dominator computer and harness, rectangle port heads and a 2010 Camaro intake. The engine is backed by a built 4L60 transmission and a Positraction rear end with 3.73 gears.

Bernacki explained that his suspension is definitely the downfall of his car, having only replaced the front bushings and added on a new set of lowering springs ten years ago. This made Bernacki’s Chevelle a perfect candidate for the Suspension Challenge.

As we reported in early August, the individual chosen for the Suspension Challenge will compete in the autocross at this year’s Holley LS Fest. Bernacki will run his Chevelle as-is on Friday September 9th. Overnight, he and his crew will have to put a whole new RideTech suspension on the car. Bernacki will then run his car in the autocross the rest of the weekend to see the difference that the RideTech suspension has made. RideTech plans to film the whole event and put the video up online for our viewing pleasure.

If you’re going to be in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area that weekend, make sure to stop by the Holley LS Fest at Beech Bend Raceway and cheer Bernacki and his crew on. We look forward to seeing the results of the Challenge.
