GM answered a lot of enthusiasts’ questions when it pulled back the covers on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, riding on a lighter, more agile platform and utilizing a trifecta of engines both familiar and all-new. Executives were happy to answer questions about horsepower, weight loss, and some of the many new features the sixth-generation Camaro incorporates. But they haven’t given us all the details, waiting until the 2016 Camaro officially launches. Or at least that was the hope.
Camaro6.com came across the 2016 Camaro ordering guide, and while there are no big reveals, like a new Z28 or ZL1 package (at least not yet), there are some interesting tidbits to digest. Things like exterior and interior color options are laid bare, as is the addition of a performance exhaust and Brembo brake package for 1LT and 2LT models. Does that mean Brembo brakes can be paired with the new 275 horsepower 2.0 liter turbo?
We don’t know for sure yet, but the ordering guide certainly hints that that might be the case. Another neat feature available on all the new Camaros is an inductive charging mat for cellphones, allowing your device to be recharged without actually having to plug it in. Magnetic Ride Control returns to the Camaro SS for 2016, as will many familiar color options like Summit White and Red Hot, though the creatively-named “Blue Me Away” is new for the sixth-gen. It also looks like a Ceramic White leather interior trim will be added to the option list in 2016, and the RS package will be back, joined by a new Track Cooling Package available on all trim levels.
It’s a peek behind the curtain at the 2016 Camaro, and at this point all we’re waiting for is the Camaro customizer to finally go online.
