The Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V are both great deals when compared to their european competitors. As if we didn’t like them enough already, Cadillac just had to go and make them even more appealing to us performance enthusiasts.
So, say you have a CTS-V. You have a vehicle with outstanding handling, 640 horsepower, and the capability to reach 200+ miles per hour. Are you really going to have the opportunity to push it to it’s full potential on the streets? Probably not. But, if you’re one of the lucky 2017 V owners, we just might have the perfect solution for you.
Cadillac’s V-Performance Driving Academy is one of the few places where you will have that opportunity. These cars aren’t like your grandfather’s Cadillac, and you’re going to have to learn to master them one way or another.
The driving school is perfect for every experience level, and once you purchase your new V, all you need is a flight to Vegas and everything else is handled — free of charge.
After being picked up from the airport and given a Cadillac to explore in, you have an array of activities available to partake in- from specific trainings and classes taught by Cadillac engineers to hours on end of track time. Lessons are taught in performance traction management and control techniques.
Participants have the option of driving either the 640 horsepower supercharged V8 CTS-V or, to get your stick shift time in, the 464 horsepower twin turbocharged V6 ATS-V. Five meals from an executive chef and two nights in a condo at Spring Mountain Resort are all included. Participants are given detailed driving results on an SD card at the end of the event, taken through the vehicles Performance Data Recorder (PDR).
These events are offered for non-V owners as well, but they come at a cost. The cost doesn’t include a flight and just the training and track time is $2,420. There is another option for a single track day with similar training sessions and challenges called “V-Performance Labs.” V-Performance Labs take place all over the country at various tracks, include breakfast and lunch, and is $995 per person — if you’re ever lucky enough to be invite to those.
So, if you would enjoy the opportunity of getting to know these new vehicles, push them to the limit, and perfecting your driving skills then these are the perfect events for you. Sign up for the two-day event here.
