Cadillac has just unveiled the revitalized 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing. Both vehicles showcase a carefully curated blend of refined craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and exhilarating performance. As Cadillac’s V-Series celebrates its 20th anniversary, these luxury sport sedans demonstrate the brand’s unwavering goal of pushing the boundaries of design and engineering.
A New Look for A Proven Legacy
The CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing receive a refreshed exterior for 2025, sporting a revised front fascia that exudes a bolder and more aggressive presence. The CT5-V boasts a wider, lower stance that complements its sleek fastback profile; the CT5-V Blackwing takes it up a notch with aero ground effects and bespoke front fenders.
The interiors continue to impress with luxurious materials, crisp craftsmanship, and aggressive lines that hint at supercar performance. Cadillac has also introduced three new exterior colors: Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic, and Typhoon Metallic, adding a touch of personalization to these performance machines.
Cutting-Edge Tech for the Modern Driver
A highlight of the 2025 models is the massive 33-inch LED color touchscreen display, transforming the cockpit into a futuristic command center. The display features a customizable interface, putting essential information and controls at your fingertips.
Tech-savvy drivers will appreciate the enhanced performance data recorder, offering in-depth lap analysis tools and performance insights previously only available on a laptop. The system can even provide speed tips to help you shave precious seconds off your track times.
Additionally, the 2025 models offer Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology, Google built-in for seamless connectivity, and a refined HVAC system with interactive animations.
Uncompromising Performance
Under the hood, the CT5-V packs a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, delivering 360 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The CT5-V Blackwing, on the other hand, harnesses a monstrous 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with a staggering 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. You can choose between a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic to coral this beastly power.
Both models feature advanced suspension systems, Brembo brakes, and a suite of performance-enhancing technologies to ensure you have complete control on the road or track.
The Future of Cadillac Performance
The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing are the sole entries in the American luxury performance sedan segment. With their freshened design cues, cutting-edge technology, and exhilarating performance, these Caddys will turn heads and leave a lasting impression to keep the stuffy Germans in the rearview mirror. Our Take?
Now that the Camaro and Malibu are dead, Cadillac’s CT5 and Chevy’s Corvette are all that’s left of GM’s mighty V8-powered legacy. We could moan and complain, but we still have RWD, gas-powered supercars, and that’s a reason to rejoice: Tony Roma. The new Corvette Chief Engineer was a big factor behind Cadillac’s latest speed demons. Their baked-in goodness was probably key to securing his new job as Corvette head honcho.
There’s more good news, too. The CT5 and the C8 are the best-performing vehicles GM has ever made. They are tightly assembled, reliable, and blazing fast. They are also better than their foreign competition and showcase the LT engine’s global superiority. GM CEO Mary Barra has backtracked a bit on the company’s migration rate to EVs. She now says, “It will take decades,” to replace the nation’s fleet of cars with EVs.
That’s the best news we’ve heard all day. Hopped-up CT5s are going to stick around for the time being. We wish the Camaro could have lingered, but sadly, that time has passed. So, let’s celebrate that we still have two LT-powered supercars from the mighty General.
