When it comes to making strong Bowtie power, one of the big name tuners has added yet another choice to their horsepower menu. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) recently announced an 800 HP, twin turbocharger upgrade for the contemporary Camaro. The 800 horsepower turbocharged 2010 LS7 Camaro L28 engine and performance package was first shown at the 2011 Camaro5 Fest, in Chandler, Arizona.
“Lingenfelter’s heritage is in using precision engineering to bring even more capability to already high-performing vehicles,” commented Ken Lingenfelter, LPE owner. “Our LS7 Camaro L28 package follows that tradition. In addition to the road-shattering 800 horsepower engine, the performance and body enhancements deliver stunning refinements in both power and curb appeal for one of today’s most sought-after sports cars.”
The Lingenfelter 427 CI/7.0-liter LS7 engine features an 8.8:1 compression ratio with forged JE pistons, production GM LS7 crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, and LS7 cylinder heads with titanium intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves. Other engine upgrades include twin GT30R turbochargers with air-to-air intercooler, custom LPE coil covers and a low temperature thermostat.
Supporting the full performance approach, LPE will also include a 6-bolt LS9 twin disk flywheel and clutch assembly; Lingenfelter Camaro SS twin pump fuel system with controller; heavy duty Driveshaft Shop half-shafts; Brembo brake calipers and rotors; CORSA stainless exhaust system; Hotchkis suspension springs with anti-sway bars and subframe brace.
Exterior refinements will include a new front fascia, rocker extensions, revised hood with a functioning air inlet, rear spoiler and a new rear apron. Custom wheels with 275/40ZR-20 tires on the front and 315/35ZR-20 on the back are also part of the upgrades.
In addition, supplied Lingenfelter badging confirms the vehicle’s authenticity as a certified Lingenfelter creation. For more information check the company’s web site.
