This Biscayne is wrong in so many ways from the mainstream that’s its right. The car doesn’t sport some fancy paint job; It’s a post car, factory equipped 6-cylinder and two speed Powerglide, this is the downgraded version of an Impala. This car was the perfect recipe of undesirable. Did you notice the actual bullet hole in the drivers side front fender? It’s real. The car came from Compton, CA, home of the famous rapper Snoop Dog. That bullet hole could be from a gang battle, yah never know!
Instead of ending up as a lowrider, like Snoop Dog would prefer, the Biscayne turned into the ride you see today. Doug Ennen of Hemet, CA and his buddies love to build cars that most other people would shy away from. The group of friends self titled their garage “Chump Foose.” They even came up with a motto “we do it wrong the first time.” Sounds like their mentality is to go against the grain of what’s popular.
This bruised Biscayne may just look like a tired Grandma car that’s riding on air with big rims. You would be correct in that statement but what you don’t know is that this car can flat out haul ass. Under the hood is a twin turboed LS engine.
The tired and weak 6-cylinder Powerglide set up was yanked out upon rolling the car into the Chump Foose garage. From there the crew built an LS 550 hp 5.3L iron block engine. Twin 61mm turbos push through an intercooler into the ProComp LS1 intake to make horsepower with ease. Fuel is delivered via an Aeromotive 1000 fuel pump with -10 inlet and -6 return, feeding the 80lb injectors. The bottom end was fitted with an LS1 oil pan for clearance issues. Exhaust is spent through a custom 3″ system equipped with Summit Bullet Mufflers. The task of engine management is handled with ease by a Megasquirt fully tunable system. They set up the Megasquirt to run off the twin turboed engine off E85 ethanol.
Twin turbo's make the world go round!
All that power is backed up by a built Turbo 350 with reverse manual valve body and a 3500 stall. The rear end remains a stock 10 bolt with a spool installed to try to keep some sort of traction.
A complete air ride suspension system is installed at all four corners and air is supplied with two Viar compressors. That air ride is what allows the Biscayne sit in the weeds and tuck the huge 18/20″ Boss 338 wheels. Tubular A-arms can be found in the front with disc brakes finishing off each corner for handling and stopping power.
Paint and body is provided by Chevrolet and acid rain. That’s right, this is the original paint and body on this car. The interior was redone bare bones as well, to compliment the paint and give it a sleeper appearance. A basic vinyl seat cover was stitched up and installed front and rear with matching door panels.
No frills, just business
This car is down right a sleeper. The only thing missing on the car is all the flashy cosmetics such as a fresh paint job and chrome. The boys at Chump Foose decided to keep it stock and under the radar from any sort of competition.
This is the perfect recreation of a Biscayne; from the factory they were stripped down base level cars. Nothing has changed with that here. Door dings, scratches or a rock chip is no concern with this Biscayne either. While Plain Jane looking, you can use your lead foot and smoke the competition sitting next to you at the drag lights! Stay tuned for more crazy cars out of the Chump Foose garage.
