Billy Boat Performance Exhaust is a name typically associated with high quality, race engineered parts, great sounding exhaust systems; and they have been doing so since 1989. While originally specializing in exhaust and cooling systems for the Porsche 911, Billy Boat Performance Exhaust has expanded their expertise to cover a number of vehicles on the market today including cars trucks and SUVs. Love or hate the Porsche 911 and its fans, most people are aware that 911 owners tend to have high expectations of their equipment, and B&B continues to satisfy that market. Fortunately for us, one of their chosen platforms happens to be the Chevy Corvette.

According to the B&B Performance Exhaust website, “Each Billy Boat Performance Exhaust system incorporates three generations of fabrication skill and racing talent. Every system starts with T-304 stainless steel, known throughout the industry as the highest quality material practical for after-cat exhaust applications. All exhaust tubing is mandrel bent on sophisticated CNC machinery for a precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. What’s more, the use of T-304 stainless steel flanges offers high strength and complete resistance to harsh elements. All hangers, resonators, and tips are T-304 stainless steel as well.

Billy Boat Performance Exhaust mufflers are crafted in-house with years of racing and street development invested into the design. Each muffler is tuned to match its application for the best possible performance gain and sound quality combination. For strength, the muffler end-plates are radiused at the inlet and outlet preventing premature cracking. Additionally, reinforcing gussets are used when necessary. Depending on the application, you can choose from 3-inch round tips with a rolled edge, 4.5-inch oval rolled edge tips, 5.25-inch oval rolled edge tips or DTM style tips for European applications.”

Corvette Online recently acquired a full exhaust system for our own in-house C7 project car, and thus far we are extremely happy with our B&B selection. Everything from build quality, to performance, to sound seems to be on point. You can learn more about this in a future review and installation article.

That being said, we recently had a phone conversation with some of the guys over at B&B. We discussed our C7 install, talked about our experience with the Z06, and the typical rabbit trails of car performance and racing. The most exciting part however, was learning about their newest exhaust system for the Corvette, and accordingly we decided to issue this BOLO, or Be One the Look Out.

While their website has yet to reflect such products, we can assure your that Billy Boat Performance Exhaust will shortly be releasing a complete exhaust system for the Corvette C7 Z06 platform. In fact, all testing and development has been wrapped up and the systems are already moving into production. It is only a matter of time before we see the next sweet Corvette exhaust from B&B.
