Big truck shows like the C10 Nationals always bring out amazing custom builds, making it a real challenge for one to truly grab the spotlight. Ruben Terrazas’ incredible 1968 Chevy C10, however, did just that. His truck earned a prestigious TMI Products TRIM Road Tour selection at the event, which ran from May 9 to 10.
Judges praised Terrazas’ C10 for its creativity, especially its full TMI interior. Chris Baker, who served as the C10 Nationals TRIM judge, commented, “The interior had some design elements that we’ve never seen.”
Baker noted the unique application of TMI’s VXR insert pattern. He explained that this pattern featured “two different browns, plus a micro-suede for the VXR insert with black grommets.”
The creative placement of this pattern truly distinguished the truck; Baker added that matching VXR inserts even formed custom floor mats and appeared in a one-of-a-kind custom headliner.
This Chevy pickup, however, offers much more than a stunning interior; it packs serious performance hardware. A monstrous 1,200-horsepower twin-turbo 427 LSX engine sits under the hood, complete with a Frankenstein billet intake manifold. A Borla exhaust system ensures everyone hears it coming.
To handle the power, massive 405/25ZR24 Pirelli rear tires are mounted on Specialty Forged wheels. The truck rides on a custom tube frame chassis, featuring a custom 4-link rear suspension and an AccuAir air-ride system for its aggressive stance.
The custom charcoal paint also drew high praise. As Baker observed, when the sun hit it, “you could see the charcoal paint really pop with a warm metallic undertone that matched the interior color scheme.” Custom airbrushed wood bed panels further tied the whole build together.
With this impressive win, Ruben Terrazas is now the second TMI Products’ TRIM Award winner for 2025, joining Jim McKay, who won his spot in February. These two, plus three more builders yet to be chosen, will compete for the 2025 TRIM Road Tour championship.
The grand champion gets an amazing prize package as well. It includes a trip to the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, a Top 20 finalist spot at TMI’s TRIM Awards event, SEMA passes, a featured parking spot, and hotel accommodations.
