We reported that the mid-engined car, supposed to be the C8 Corvette, was sighted running around the Nurburgring over Labor Day. Now, as expected, the car(s) have been spotted making some runs around the famed track.

Jalopnik posted a video of a couple of the mid-engined cars doing some lapping of the track. The nice thing about the video is that you can hear the engine, which sounds pretty good to us! Its throaty V8 lets everyone know it’s coming through. There also seem to be some differences in the way the two cars sound at various points in the video. Perhaps one is turbo’d while the other is naturally aspirated?

Through several screen captures of the video, several differences come to light, such as the position of the rear-facing camera and the entire area of the rear hatch. One is covered with a heavy fabric, while the other is shrouded in what appears to be black tape.

There are what appear to be different vents under the rear window area, and with the heavily-draped version, we can’t tell if the side vents around the window are similar or even if they exist.

Also, the roof-lines seem to differ, in that the one has distinct lines running front to rear, while the other appears to be smooth. Also, as the car comes toward the camera in one shot, the hood seems to still have a significant amount of padding. Perhaps to hide some additional ducting?

The hood appears to be hiding something, perhaps an opening to allow air to flow up from under the hood? The hood line flow is incomplete from the windshield to the front of the hood, as you can see a distinct line where it stops.
