Remember when sharing memories meant pulling out old photo albums and pointing to highlights in various faded pictures? Thankfully, today’s Corvette enthusiasts have the ability to use media to share those special moments in near real-time with technology rivaled only by the car itself.

A case in point is when MidEngineCorvetteForum (MECF) member “John” receives his brand-new Corvette Z06 during a scheduled delivery through the National Corvette Museum’s R8C delivery program. R8C deliveries are special Corvette options where the owners can take delivery of their new Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. John’s R8C delivery just happens to be occurring during the NCM’s 2023 Michelin NCM Bash event this coming weekend.

The R8C delivery program is available through any Chevrolet dealer as part of the ordering process. The car will then be shipped to the NCM for delivery. Hundreds of enthusiasts take delivery of their new Corvette at the National Corvette Museum each year.

The NCM has various webcams located throughout the facilities and viewers can watch John and Ann officially receive the keys to their new Z06 as it happens. John and Ann’s Z06 will be positioned on the NCM’s Delivery Camera #1 and they are scheduled to become the car’s first owners at 8:15 am (CST) this Thursday, April 27, 2023. Folks at the MECF created a thread on the forum for those who wish to participate in congratulating John and Ann on their newest acquisition.

If you’re attending the NCM’s Bash event, you can congratulate them personally, but if you’re like so many of us and sadly, won’t be able to attend, feel free to use media to share the moment with the car’s happy new owners. Tune in on the NCM’s webcams this Thursday morning to watch it all unfold and head over to the MECF’s Z06 Watch Party thread to congratulate them. Let’s face it those old Polaroids were fine for what they were, but today there are so many other technologies available to make this entire world seem so small.
