Dale Jr.’s LS7 Dick Harrell Camaro: A Chance to Own a Legend

If you’re into rare, late-model fourth-gens and you’re a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, a very special car just hit the market. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s personal and heavily modified 2002 Dick Harrell Camaro is up for grabs and sports more than just the beautiful orange paint and widebody fenders.

This 2002 Chevrolet Camaro “Dick Harrell Edition” Coupe is a Phase IIIX Built by a collaboration with GMMG, Inc and Berger Chevrolet. There were only a total of thirty Camaros built for customers and three prototypes. This is the third prototype, PR-3, and was Dale Jr.’s personal car with his signature on the dash and only 4,000 miles on the clock. This car is a time capsule!

Earnhardt Jr. had Hendrick Motorsports swap in an 7.0-liter LS7 in place of the 427 LS it originally came with and added a F.A.S.T LSXR intake manifold. Now, if you’re wondering what the result is, it has a peak output of 650 horsepower. The four guys who did the swap even signed the firewall on this now-custom Dick Harrell Camaro.

This car is built to handle that power. We’re talking a 12-bolt rear end, a custom chromoly driveshaft (with a driveshaft loop, of course), Penske road racing shocks, a Hurst line lock, and an adjustable torque arm. Underneath the widebody fenders are a set of 18×12 and 18×11 Fiske wheels with massive 325mm wide rubber to handle the LS7’s torque.

The six-speed manual? Specially built for this car. There’s even a six-point roll cage in there, but the rear bar is removable. Visually, it’s not subtle. Custom paint, a bold black center stripe, and a cowl induction hood make sure this 2002 Camaro stands out.

Earnhardt Jr. originally paid over $125,000 for this Dick Harrell Camaro. The current offered price of the car is $255,000. But you know this is going to be a hot item, so there’s a chance that this car will be put up for bidding. After all, it’s not every day that you see a 2002 Camaro with low mileage, a powerful engine, modified interior and exterior parts, and owned by a legendary race car driver.

So, if you’re a serious Camaro collector, a Dale Jr. superfan, or just someone who appreciates a ridiculously well-built, rare muscle car, this is your chance. The Camaro is planning on crossing the auction block at Mecum if it doesn’t sell soon. This is more than just a car; it’s a piece of history. Are you going to be the one driving it home? Stay tuned for more updates.
