YouTube’s community of automotive vloggers is close-knit — and few names in it carry the weight of Rob Ferretti. When he’s not reading the numerous “Mr. Spaghetti” comments you’ll find below each video on his channel, Rob has built himself into an underground car-culture deity.
Ferretti is well known as a founder of the exotic car rental business Gotham City Supercars, famous for outrageous road racing exploits and ridiculous cars. He recently challenged a select few YouTube channels to a “project car showdown.”
One of those channels belongs to Deboss Garage, and boy have they gone off the deep-end with their project build.

Quattro Duo
Led by diesel virtuoso Rich Bosch, the gang and Deboss garage have more than a little experience with engine swaps. For the YouTube challenge, they’re doubling-down on the Quattro. That means Audi Quattro all-wheel drive and four turbochargers for good measure.
But they won’t be adding boost to the 3.6-liter Audi V8 that came out of their car — an Audi V8 by name. Instead, they’re using a time-tested Chevy LS. It’s a 5.3-liter GMC truck motor, to be specific, which has now been de-stroked to produce a 4.8-liter volume.
Rich’s team hopes to generate 700 to 800 horsepower from the Chevy V8 with help from those four turbochargers, which are in fact a pair of twin-turbo units borrowed from a Ford Powerstroke diesel engine.
The paired design, typically referred to as a compound setup, uses a smaller turbo to help spool the larger unit — a technique that has been popular in boosted sports cars since the early ’90s and one the team hopes will provide quick low-end torque.
Rob’s challenge has been getting a lot of attention, but some of it is for the wrong reasons. Many competitors are finding their project plans too lofty to achieve, so here’s hoping Deboss Garage brings this Quattro monster full term so the YouTube world can hear it roar.
