Back at the 2011 SEMA show we showed you Projx Auto’s Z/TA Trans Am Conversion package for the 5th Gen Camaro. However, in the time since we haven’t seen or heard anything about anyone actually performing a Z/TA conversion on their Camaro until we recently came across this video of one that is actually for sale in Houston at the Texas Best dealership.

The “Z/TA Appearance Package” from Projx Auto consists of all the basics that the average Joe would need to do his own Trans Am conversion, including front and rear bumpers, shaker hood and airbox, louvered fenders, and a few screaming chicken style emblems. The guys from Projx told us that they didn’t include wheels or too many body modifications in order to help keep the cost down. The same goes for performance and suspension modifications, so that owners of both SS and V6 Camaros could choose their own path for modifying their Z/TA. The price for the Z/TA package? Right around $8,500.

We were pretty amused at how the computerized voice-over in the video never makes any mention of the fact that the car’s been converted and talks about it like it was any other 5th Gen, commenting on basic features and how important “low odometer readings” are to you as a car buyer. Guess the Z/TA conversion was a little too subtle for a mention?
