Cadillac’s new catchphrase is “The Standard of the World,” and in many ways Cadillac really does step up to the plate in terms of sportiness and luxury. The CTS-V and CTS-V Coupe are two of the best-looking luxury performance cars on the market, able to keep up with the big boys from Europe like Audi and BMW. It also helps that the underlying architecture is familiar for anybody that knows GM products, including that remarkable supercharged LSA engine.
AutoBlog scoured YouTube for this video of a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe at the track. This isn’t just any CTS-V Coupe though; it’s the V700 tuned by the madmen at Hennessey Performance Engineering.
We’ve already seen what Hennessey can do with the Cadillac CTS-V. From the factory this luxury beast makes 556 horsepower, and when massaged by Hennessey, it can be boosted to over 800 horsepower if you opt for the V800 package. The more “moderate” trim, the V700, makes over 700 horsepower in the sedan and likely the same in the coupe.
The upgrades include an HPE cold-air intake, a supercharger pulley and snout swap, and an engine management upgrade. Headers, a 3-inch exhaust, camshaft upgrade and cylinder head improvements round up the package, and on top of that it comes with a 12,000 mile/1-year warranty. As the video above demonstrates, this package is good for running an 11.16 @ 124 mph. That’s knocking on the door of 10’s, in a car that weighs in at almost two tons. That’s one quick Caddy.
