Let’s do the dam thing part 2! It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been an entire year since the last Holley LS Fest West. Even harder to believe is that it’s been almost a year since our first ever LSX Magazine Cruise to Hoover Dam. Our inaugural cruise went better than we could have hoped for and we had the chance to meet many of you face-to-face. On top of that, the cruise ended up being an amazing photo opportunity and the sounds of raucous LS exhaust notes bouncing off the canyon walls is not one we will soon forget.
If you missed it last year then we’ve got good news for you, LSX Magazine will be back at it again this year and we hope to see even more of you turn out. As with any initial event, there were some wrinkles that we have smoothed out for round two and we are all set to caravan right to the dam without any problems.
Just like last year, we’ll be meeting in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway parking lot, just in front of registration. Project Corn Star will be on hand to lead the cruise and you’ll have a chance to crawl all over it and see some of the components we’ve used on it. We’ll have several other project cars there as well.
And just like last year, we will likely be pulling cars for features along the way. So, if you’ve got a ride that you think is magazine worthy, show up and you might just snag a spot in our pages. We even had Chevrolet Performance tag along with us last year, so needless to say the opportunity for your car to wind up on our website is pretty substantial. And, even if you don’t, it’s a great way to meet other LS- and LT-owners that are just as crazy about their ride as you are.
As we mentioned, we will gather at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway starting at 6:30 p.m., after which we will depart for the dam at 7 p.m. sharp. Our first leg will take us to the Hoover Dam Visitor Center which affords wonderful views of Lake Mead. After a little mingling and photo ops, we’ll head into the dam itself. Last year we had the place basically to ourselves. Turns out, there’s nothing like hearing your exhaust crackle through the coves of the Hoover Dam.
Once gathered at the dam, we’ll take a huge group photo and then part ways. Last year, we ended things around 8:30 p.m. just as the sun was setting. To register for the cruise, and to let us know you plan on attending, head over to our quick registration form here which takes less than 30 seconds to fill out.
We can’t wait to see some of your rides and meet up with friends from last year. If you’ve got buddies that are coming to LS Fest West, let them know and bring them along for the ride. We’ve already got a couple of clubs coming out with us and we’d love to see even more. So, let’s do the dam thing.
