At one point, people didn’t really care for GM’s square body trucks and viewed them just as utility vehicles, my how things have changed. Square body trucks have become wildly popular, and can be built in a variety of ways. That popularity means that more aftermarket parts are available, and Performance Online (POL) offers a full line of control arm kits for the 1963-1987 square body trucks.
POL’s upper and lower control arms for the square body truck were designed to address both the camber and ball joint angle issues people encountered when they used a set of drop spindles or lowered coil springs. There’s an extra two degrees of camber built into the arms to make the truck drive super straight down the road. The control arms are made of 1.250″ x .188″ DOM tubing for added strength over the OEM parts.
If you’re looking for a complete front suspension solution for your square body truck POL has you covered. There are several different options to choose from that go from mild to wild. You can get one of POL’s Hi-Performance coil over suspension kits that use the company’s tubular control arms, but also include frame plates with two different shock positions. This kit comes standard with a set of Aldan American billet coil over shocks. The Stage 3+ kit still uses POL’s awesome control arms, but it comes with Aldan’s Phantom Series single adjustable shocks, and standard mounting plates. If you have a lowered truck, POL has front suspension kits that will work for you as well.
