Is This The 2016 Camaro?

WorldCarFans.com showcased these renderings, showing what the 2016 Camaro might look like. Unfortunately, these aren’t actual drawings from General Motors, but they are based off spy photos of the new Camaro.

The design itself isn’t anything radically different, but it does have some minor tweaks here and there. To start, the renderings depict the car with a longer wheelbase, but the overhang in front and rear of the tires has been shortened up. The article hints towards using the same platform as the Cadillac ATS, which would actually lighten up the car by a few hundred pounds.

The roofline was dropped a bit as well, adding to the longer car look, and creating a smoother overall appearance. We also notice some subtle changes in the grill, where it has been pinched a bit and the under bumper grill area increased.

On the backside, the tail lights were given a more traditional treatment, but we tend to think that General Motors will keep the more modern look of the newer tail lights.

Under the hood, the source mentions a possible four-cylinder, turbo charged application might be available. While none of this has been confirmed, it might be a possibility to compete with the Ford Mustang and their turbo charged motors.

The truth and final design of the 2016 Camaro will be debuted at the North American auto show, but not until next year. Until then, all we can do is keep our finger on the pulse for you, so keep checking back!
