When it seems that everyone appears to be looking ahead to the all-new Z06 Corvette, the folks at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering have been focusing on boosting the performance of C8 Stingray Corvettes. Actually, the LPE team has been working diligently for over two years alongside the folks at Magnuson, developing, testing, and validating a fully-integrated supercharger system that boosts the performance output of the C8 Corvette to well above Z06 levels. They developed this kit, and its calibration, to allow the Corvette to operate seamlessly on the street as well as on the track. The factory clutch was retained in the company car, as they didn’t want to develop a kit that required a bunch of other modifications and upgrades.
Lingenfelter’s newest Magnuson TVS2650 Chevrolet C8 Corvette DI 700 horsepower supercharger package is designed for either the C8 Corvette coupe or C8 hard-top convertible Z51 models. The necessary adjustments to the vehicle’s operating system are made via Lingenfelter’s exclusive “C-Cal” process which directly calibrates the C8 Corvette’s factory ECM without the use of any supplemental piggyback devices. The factory ECM is calibrated by LPE and remains encrypted just like from the factory. This provides seamless integration and excellent drivability throughout the vehicle’s operating parameters and ensures that all OEM functions still operate as designed by GM.
The Lingenfelter MAGNUSON TVS2650 C8 Corvette DI 700 horsepower supercharger Stage-I package includes the Magnuson supercharger that is stuffed full of upgrades such as Eaton’s advanced (TVS R) high helix four-lobe technology, Magnuson’s Dynamic Flow Tuning (DFT) inlet porting, and an ECT intercooler and heat exchanger system to optimize air-flow across the charge air intercooler. A Lingenfelter 95mm throttle body is mounted to the supercharger, allowing ample airflow for serious performance.
Optional upgrades to the Stage-I system include a Lingenfelter C8 Corvette high-performance, Hornet Cold air intake airbox by Halltech, a set of GForce Outlaw half-shafts, a Lingenfelter CORSA Performance exhaust system, and for coupe models, a duo of Lingenfelter CORSA C8 LT2 Corvette headers.
The package is dyno certified and carries a three-year/36,000-mile warranty that supplements the factory warranty. Customers of the Lingenfelter Magnuson TVS2650 C8 Corvette DI 700 horsepower supercharger package will receive Lingenfelter’s certificate of authenticity and an engine bay plaque denoting the upgrade. This exclusive supercharger package is only available through the Lingenfelter Build Centers in Decatur, Indiana or Wixom, Michigan, or one of Lingenfelter’s approved network of installers. Lingenfelter intends to announce its list of network partners later this month that will be geographically located to ensure regional coverage throughout its network of installation centers.
Lingenfelter currently has C8 coupe superchargers in inventory and is taking deposits. A full $1,000 deposit is required, at which time the customer will receive a confirmed installation date. The C8 convertible Corvette program is scheduled to begin on January 11, 2023, due to the necessary lead time to obtain convertible-specific components to complete the kit for the drop-top C8s.
