Matt Farah, better known under his YouTube account name The Smoking Tire, told the world he drove over 250 cars throughout the course of last year. That number is climbing almost everyday, as he reviews fellow enthusiasts cars and uploads his One Take videos quite often.
Sounds great– right? Yeah, its a dream job to some (like us).
Most of the time we are impressed by the different builds we come across on his channel, with almost all being upgraded in every sense of the word. But, in experiencing that many different vehicles, Matt also has to come across a couple not-so-great ones.
This specific One Take was just uploaded yesterday, showcasing what Matt calls a “mean Mad Max lookin’ motherfuc*er,” better known as a 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. The owner seems like a newbie when it comes to cars, but we didn’t judge– well, not until part way through the video.
The owner admitted the car needed a little work still, but was completely confident in it. Turns out, the car has only three working brakes… Lets just say the result is probably the most awkward One Take in the history of One Takes.
Now, today, Matt Farah (who, mind you, is known to not give a sh*t when it comes to Twitter) tweets that the owner begged him to take the video down, after claiming he was just trolling him. Matt even started a poll asking fans if he should remove the video– 95 percent said to leave it up. Imagine that.
It’s hard to believe that the owner was actually “trolling” Farah as he is heard repeatedly defending the car in the video and telling us how “safe” the car is. As we all know, safe cars jerk unpredictably to the right under heavy breaking–or at least that’s what the owner would have us believe. “I’ve never been close to an accident or nothin’.” Just because the bespectacled driver takes YOLO a little too serious doesn’t mean Farah is willing to risk his life in an unproven Camaro.
Farah is pretty calm throughout the whole ordeal but you just know that he was seething with rage on the inside. Let this be a lesson to you: don’t submit your car for a One Take unless it can stop properly.
