Thanks to Holley, LS Fest East is in the books for 2019 and out hats are off to their entire crew for another successful show and 10-years of mayhem. We witnessed a record-breaking crowd, car count, and vendors at this year’s show at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. With over 35,000 attendees and several events going on at once, it was hard to stay focused at this show.
One of the more exciting events at LS Fest is the Grand Champion competition that involves several different challenges before a winner is crowned. The competitors must race on Auto-X, road course, drag race, and the 3S Challange to have a shot of winning. This year’s Vintage class winner was none other than Mike Dusold with his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. His twin-turbo LS-powered Camaro has always been fast but Mike and his crew keep upping the ante and figuring out how to make the car fly no matter what the event. They were able to take first place in the 3S Challange, drag race, Auto-X, and road course allowing the team to sweep the entire event. The Camaro ran a best 1/4-mile of 10.061 @ 154.37 mph on a set of 18-inch BFG g-Force Rival S 1.5s.
For Mike’s accomplishments over the weekend, we were delighted to present him with an awesome LS ring courtesy of the guys over at V8rings.com. The LSX inspired late-model LS1 ring is made out of solid .925 sterling silver and injected with brass coils.
Congratulations again to Mike DuSold and his team on taking the Vintage Grand Champion title. Click here for all of the event winners at LS Fest East 2019.
