When you think Famous Footwear, what is the first image that comes to mind? If you said a 500-horse, LS-swapped minivan drifting through suburban streets, you are probably clinically insane. But, in this one particular instance, you would have also correctly guessed the concept of the shoe manufacturer’s newest video: “Momkhana.”

“Our goal was to create a video that would be really engaging and cut through the huge amount of video content that’s out on YouTube every day,” said Famous Footwear VP JoAnn Stoda. “We wanted to get the attention of people who might not be familiar with Famous Footwear and give them something fun to watch and hopefully share … and perhaps change their perception of Famous Footwear.”

The minivan in the video powered by a GM LS3 engine that cranks out 550 horsepower – more than enough power to get the kids to school on time and knock all the errands off the list. The ride is obviously set up for some wild driving and features a hydraulic handbrake (hoon handle) and dual, Wilwood calipers at the rear wheels. Despite the wicked power and wild maneuvers, the kids in the backseat seem utterly unfazed – kids these days…

This is a unicorn in the realm of shoe commercials; a truly unique and entertaining endeavor. We commend the company on taking a step outside the box and hope you’ll get as much of a kick out of the quick flick as we did.
