Let’s be honest — nobody loves dealing with dead batteries. Whether it’s your race car, your weekend project, or just your daily driver that’s been sitting a little too long, it’s a pain. But Moroso Performance Products, known for their racing parts, has a new battery charger that’s worth checking out.

The new Moroso Power Charger is built like a tank. Forget flimsy plastic; it’s got an all-metal case, ready for life in a busy garage or crammed in your race trailer. But it’s also surprisingly versatile.

It’ll handle 12V and 16V batteries, and it works with pretty much any lead-acid, AGM, or wet cell deep cycle battery you’ve got. (Just a heads-up: no lithium-ion batteries with this one, as Scott Hall from Moroso makes clear in a recent video.) It can even bring back batteries that are almost completely dead, starting with as little as 2 volts.

With a 25-amp rating, this thing is designed to get you back on the road (or track) fast. And you’re not flying blind, either. A digital display lets you switch between volts and amps, so you can see exactly what’s going on.

A simple three-color LED tells you where you’re at in the charging process: red for charging, yellow for mostly charged (80% or more), and green for good to go.

If you need a different connector, do it right, or you risk damaging the charger (and voiding that 3-year warranty). If your battery is completely dead you can use a good battery to jump start the charging. Also take note that if you put the charger on the wrong polarity, the screen will show nothing, indicating that there is an incorrect polarity.
