We’ve all known Pfadt as the one of the go-to companies for getting some awesome race suspension systems and components; recently, however, Pfadt has branched out into making headers and exhaust systems as well. Today, 2010-and-up Camaro owners can get these great new headers to use on their 5th gen vehicles. Check out the dyno video above to get a feel for how powerful your Camaro could be, when you use Pfadt’s latest headers.
Official Release:
Pfadt is now manufacturing racing headers for 2010 and newer V8 Chevrolet Camaros. These headers feature a Tri-Y design where primary tubes are merged together in pairs before they enter a common collector. When exhaust passes the primary tube merge point, a low pressure wave is created that travels back up the adjoining primary tube at the speed of sound and helps pull more air and gasoline into the cylinder.
According to Aaron Pfadt, president of Pfadt Race Engineering, “The strong increase in mid-range torque and horsepower will put a smile on any Camaro driver’s face and because the pressure pulse tuning has been optimized, the design does not sacrifice any top end horsepower.”
The design team used GM CAD (computer aided design) data to build a set of virtual headers on the computer before going into actual production. By verifying the design in the computer, the team was able to take full advantage of all available space while still keeping the installation procedure simple. All Pfadt headers are made from T-304 16 gauge brushed stainless steel for good looks and maximum durability.
They are designed to work with or without cats and will work with the stock mid-pipe and most aftermarket cat back systems. Each header features equal length 1.875” diameter primary tubes and is hand TIG welded in the company’s Salt Lake City, Utah manufacturing facility.
To make installation easier, each header set comes with washer free, optimum-sized bullet nosed flange bolts and the CNC machined flanges are fully chamfered to help avoid bloody knuckles. V-Band clamps and O2 sensor wiring extensions are standard and optional Cometic Multi-Layer Steel gaskets guarantee a perfect seal to the cylinder heads.
