Only time will tell if the partnership between Toyota and BMW will ever result in a sports car. If it does, many are already starting to speculate what it would look like, sound like, and cost. It’s all still up in the air as of right now but according to recent reports from Car and Driver, most likely this Toyota sports car would cost more than the C7 Corvette’s base price of $54,995.
The car would be mid-sized, similar to the FT-1 concept car. Expected to have more than 400 hp and a high possibility of being turbocharged, the car would be built to compete with the Corvette. Not quite written in stone, but close enough, is the strong likelihood of rear-wheel drive.
The other speculation is the chance for a sports car from each manufacturer. Many have started to wonder what the BMW version would cost knowing that the BMW version would be pricier, as it would be more of an exceptional quality car.
We will have to wait and see what this joint venture between Toyota and BMW produces, and what their answer is to the mighty C7 Corvette. Will it be the next Toyota Supra? Or maybe a BMW version of the Jaguar F-type? Only time will tell.
But now we will leave it up to you, does it even matter? Are you keeping tabs on this possible upcoming sports car? Leave us a comment below with your opinion.
