Right about now we could all use a little get away. Things have been a bit stressful this last year and if you think like we do then it’s about time to make a plan to hit the backcountry. For us that plan almost always involves a kick butt rig that will carry all the essentials for a good time and then some. While reassessing our own capabilities and possibilities for getting off grid we came across this build from Osprey Custom Cars.
Osprey is well known for building custom classic Defenders and this little gem certainly continues that legacy. This build is loaded with custom upgrades and luxury features. A small taste of this trucks’ offerings include the following. The powertrain includes a 6.2L LS3 V8 with approximately 435HP and 425lb-ft torque. A 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission backs up the power plant and is followed up by an HD LT230 transfer case.
All of the body was painted in Nara Bronze with black fenders and accents. Other exterior features include led lighting front to rear, 18 inch Kahn Rims, brand new Cooper AT tires, a rear NAS style bumper with two inch receiver, and much more.
Interior upgrades such as nine leather seats, and an Alcantra Suede headliner. Additional improvements on the inside include, but are not limited to, power windows in front, keyless entry, and a stereo with DVD system. The infotainment system also has Bluetooth, navigation, Apple car play, and a back up camera.
Osprey Custom Cars implemented serious comfort upgrades throughout.
Osprey Custom Cars was founded in 2009 by Aaron Richardet and he has no trouble singing this trucks’ praises. “This truck has a very classy look that fits anywhere”, said Mr. Richardet. “You can take it to the country club one day and off road the next,” he explained. This truck is just as comfortable off grid as doing something more challenging like hitting the grocery store these days.
