Veteran Mountain Motor Pro Stock ace Pete Berner, who finished third in the ADRL Extreme Pro Stock points standings this season behind the wheel of his eye-catching Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GXP, will have a whole new look when the 2012 campaign gets underway next March as he debuts a brand new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZR1 from the Rick Jones Race Cars shop. The highly-anticipated new body has been developed by Five Star and a team of industry-leading chassis builders, and Berner’s new machine is but one of many new Camaro’s expected to hit the track in the new year.
Berner’s new machine will once again carry the Summit Racing Equipment banner for the third straight year, with a stunning new paint scheme designed by GOS Motorsports Graphics that features a dynamic, multi-colored color palette.
“I am thrilled to welcome Summit back for another year,” told Berner. “We have a great partnership. Summit is an outstanding company, and I couldn’t be more proud to represent them in ADRL Extreme Pro Stock. It has been truly amazing to witness the workings of Summit and get to know the company. Summit operations are outstanding in every area, which can be attributed to the great team of people. Jim Greenleaf and his team are some of the best in the business.”
RJ Race Cars, which has constructed numerous chassis for Berner over the years and played a major sponsorship role in 2008 and 2009, will join Summit Racing Equipment as an associate backer on the new ZR1 Camaro.
“We are looking forward to building Pete a new 2012 Camaro for Extreme Pro Stock,” added Rick Jones. “I feel he has a very good team and they run at the front of the pack. We are planning on testing some new products on Pete’s car and getting some good feedback. We are excited about 2012 can wait for the season to get started!”
In addition, RAM Clutches, Braswell Carburetors, Browell Bellhousings, Hoosier Tires, Penske Shocks, Bill Miller Engineering, Jesel Valvetrains, Weld Racing, Total Seal Rings, and Diamond Pistons will also continue their relationship with Berner ad his racing efforts in 2012.
